Capturing Requirements

Requirements capture and solution definition is the bread and butter in what we do, but the true success of any initiative is ensuring that the true needs of the business / client are met and widely understood. 

In recent years, we have leveraged the power of rapid prototyping tools to elicit requirements, and validate the product through demonstrable applications to ensure success. These prototypes prove invaluable to development teams, in addition to an effective backlog or functional specifications.

Process and system modelling

Utilising tools and techniques such as UML or BPMN the “As is” and “To be” states of a business process can be documented. System and application flow can be modelled through diagrammatic tools such as activity and sequence diagrams.

Functional definition

Whatever your approach we can fill the gap. Be it Agile and the construction of Epics, feature and user stories with effective acceptance criteria or Waterfall with the documentation of Functional Specifications.

UX / Prototyping

A powerful tool to bring to life ideas and initiatives that can be tested and adapted before investing in development effort. From a Business Analyst perspective, the use of Axure enables functionally rich prototypes with complex interactions to be created to fully test and validate the desired product. Axure supports both low and high-fidelity prototyping and can be used as a functional reference should tools such as Figma or Sketch be more established within the business.

Agile development and SCRUM

A background in software development provides a unique viewpoint. This experience can be called upon to ensure that product backlogs are concise, duplication of requirements are avoided and opportunities for development efficiencies are identified during the construction of epics and user stories.

Experienced, Product Owner, Scrum Master or integral to a multi-disciplinary team by adapting the project needs by filling shortfalls in UX or tin addition to the BA role.

Change management

I am experienced in formal management of change control (Waterfall) or the acceptance and flexibility of change within and Agile framework so that the product delivers to the changing needs of the business or adapts to changes in customer behaviour

Testing

I am experienced in test strategy, test case documentation and execution across a multitude of projects. I have been involved in the many phases of test, either through validation of test documentation or validation of test execution due to obtained domain knowledge and requirement traceability.
